Here is what I would call a ‘top-notch’ medical drama that throws light on the different existing relationships and situations in life, all in one hospital. It basically revolves around the lives of 5 surgical interns – Meridith Grey, Alex Karev, George O’Malley, Izzie Stevens and Cristina Yang.

Although it began as a romantic drama, the new Grey’s Anatomy series has picked up from there and explored different areas surrounding love, laughter, sorrow, death and life itself. With the medical cases that never end, the relationships and love they lost and gained. Through the course of each season, you get varied insights on how these characters cope with different trauma that life leads them to. The complexity of the scenarios is what caught my eye throughout. Be it the dark side of Meridith Grey, the steamy escapades of Mark Sloan, the ultimately positive Izzie Stevens, the constantly shattered Alex Karev or the consistently competing nature of Cristina Yang, you would not want to miss a single moment on the show.

The success and critical acclaim that the show receives is due to its light emphasis on the medical aspect and much more attention given to the effort these characters put in to become great surgeons. The Grey’s Anatomy series is not just fun. The two Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards that they have picked up shows this series is unique in their story telling manner. I recommend this as an all-time must watch.
