RIP Edward Woodward/ Edward Woodward dies at 79
The news is directly coming from UK. It’s been reported that Edward Woodward the veteran actor has dies at the age of 79. His agent Ms. Janet Glass confirmed this news informing, Mr. Woodward had been suffering from pneumonia and few other diseases and passed in his family member’s presence.
Edward Woodward died at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.
Edward Woodward is most famed for his performance in 1973 horror film The Wicker Man, alongside Christopher Lee and 1980’s US TV show The Equalizer.
Edward Woodward has played many roles but one of my favorite is Callan (1967 – 1972 with a film in 1974 and a one off reunion episode in 1981). He played an outstanding role of professional killer, working for British intelligent services. This was Woodward’s beginning of his acting career and he played his role perfectly!
One of Woodward’s biggest fans, Actor Simon Pegg who also caste him in his film Hot Fuzz, 2007 said on twitter “So sorry to hear we have lost the great Edward Woodward. Feel lucky to have worked with him.”
Woodward left behind his second wife, the actress Michele Dotrice, and four children, three of whom he had during his first marriage. We tribute the gem and all we can say is RIP Edward Woodward
