The Vampire Diaries may initially come across as some loose, run-of-the-mill rip-off of Buffy the Vampire Slayer of the Twilight movie. But gradually if you follow the series, you will learn that it has something more than just teenage vampire sitcom. At least that is how my impression changed.

The Vampire Diaries may have a young star cast. But if you think that plays against them you are mistaken. The serial has not only a youthful and fresh appeal to it, but if you are ready to understand it, you will see that the characters too, have immense intensity. The attraction that Stefan Salvatore and Elena Gilbert share is sizzling. From a vampire-meets high school sitcom, The Vampire Diaries takes a drastic turn into a mature story with a larger purpose. The more the serial travels the bigger the picture gets. Teenagers would certainly welcome such a change. Because of its fresh feel that it brings, the viewership is rapidly increasing.

Another astonishing fact is that as the series goes on; you notice that they want are not rushing into it. Slowly and steadily they let the story emerge as well as the characters reveal their secrets. If you are a Vampire story fan, you will definitely love it. If not, you will learn to love it.
